So I have this favorite hat. It is a Felix the Cat baseball-style hat (as seen
here, and it's been with me for alot of years. However, it's just starting to get pretty threadbare. So I searched for another one just like it, but alas Felix the Cat stuff is as elusive as the Holy Grail or the goose that lays golden eggs- I can't find one anywhere. I went on a quest for a new favorite hat today, though this one will be tough to beat. To make a short story longer and much more boring, I didn't find one, and the Disney Store now officially sucks. There is *NOTHING* that will fit anyone over the age of 4 in that place anymore... so no Felix hat. The search continues. Yeah today was a boring day.

Day 13-
So, we've had essentially no heat or hot water since we moved in. The fix? Turn up the hot water heater. Ok, so now we have REALLY HOT water for five minutes, instead of just plain hot water for five minutes. Apparently two weeks of bitching is enough and we get a new hot water tank on Monday (hell, we get a new dishwasher too as the old one is nearly as old as I am). Now, if we can just get them to fix the furnance in the apartment, we'll be all set. Isn't life grand?

Ever have something really silly/stupid stuck in your head that you find absolutely hilarious? We have that going on now. If you watch cartoons and remember this, all well and good- if you don't, go rent "The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie" and watch the bit where Daffy plays the part of Robin Hood and Porky the part of Friar Tuck. Daffy's singing something to the effect of "trip it up and down" and then starts to fall down a hill spouting "trip it, whoops, trip it, trippit, trip it" and it's just damn funny for some reason.
Bunny! Bunny! Bunny! Happy (insert religious holiday) to you if you are of mind to be celebrating. Had a mass fish exodus of biblical proportions today- 60% of the tank went buh-bye overnight. Thankfully the 15 day/15,000 mile warranty on the fish is still good. We have a whole bunch of new chiclids to replace those fish who were flushed. Hope they don't end up like that goldfish in Rocko's Modern Life did... these were pretty dead though. My niece wanted to make "fish jerky" out of them... I have taught her so well, I almost feel bad for my sister

Word of advice... if you value your expensive tropical fish, make sure the pH in the tank is appropriate for the fish you are keeping. Too low of a pH is apparently what caused the mass fish exodus of the other day. Moral of the story- don't put fish that like basic pH in a tank full of water of ~6.0pH. Poor bastards.
